Outfall 19 Rehabilitation (2025)

Location – St Albert
Owner – City of St Albert

Outfall 19 incorporated significant rehabilitation work with positive environmental outcomes. Approximately 12m of 1800mm storm drainage pipe was replaced, and a new headwall and riprap area were constructed along the bank of the Sturgeon River. A diversion chamber was added to direct storm flows through two 10m deep oilgrit separators before discharge, improving water quality by removing oils and sediment prior to entering the river.

To restore and enhance the natural area adjacent to the botanic park, more than 70 new trees and shrubs were planted along the new access path.
